FTC’s Julie Brill advocates for tough data security laws

Federal Trade Commissioner Julie Brill spoke at CMU, urging passage of three new laws meant, in part, to address the Internet’s accelerating encroachment into our private lives.

The Carnegie Mellon University’s Alessendro Acquisti adds “The available evidence suggests that people care, that protection of privacy is possible, and that as a society we can enjoy the benefit of big data while simultaneously protecting privacy.”
