Home Glossary SecureLink Tokenization SecureLink Tokenization The A-Z of Privacy SecureLink Tokenization: SecureLink tokenization is used during the SecureLink process to convert transit tokens (see SecureLink Encryption) prepared at a contributor organization to final tokens that can be used as a consistent, but de-identified joining key. SecureLink tokenization enables the recipient to safely join data from multiple contributors, without revealing the raw values of the direct identifiers. Tokens produced by the SecureLink tokenization step have a defined format that can be customized for appropriate use in joined datasets. For example, tokens can be formatted to resemble numeric customer IDs. Return to glossary
