But the majority of organisations still don’t have a clear approach to managing the privacy risks inherent in their data. As a result they cannot confidently make data safely available for analysis and machine learning. Instead they do nothing, stifling innovation and eroding competitive advantage.
Thankfully, over a decade of research into privacy enhancing technologies, which preserve both privacy for the consumer and analytical utility for the organisation, has been developed into tools which are beginning to hit the mainstream.
